When was the last time you looked at your Google My Business? When Covid struck? When it was first set up? When searching for your business, this is one of the first things a potential customer or client sees.

Making sure your GMB is up to date is vital for your business. It's a free tool to promote your business and allows you to include videos, pictures and a general overview of what services you offer. One of its most important aspects is the opening times, which may be something that needs updating on your account. Many businesses changed theirs during the lockdown, and no doubt, many people have forgotten to put it back to the correct times.

One thing many people don't realise is that you can also publish updates to My Business; much like a social media channel, it's not worth posting all the time, but if you have a special offer, a new range or an event that is going on then it is well worth posting it on there.

This may also prompt you to update any photos; exterior photos are especially powerful as they allow people to locate you more easily.

"Personally, I use GMB all the time when I want to find out about a business; it gives all the information I expect right on Google's main page. Setting it up correctly also allows people to leave reviews for your company, which is another excellent way to build trust for potential customers."
